I hope y'all had a great holiday season, I know I did. I just adore being with my family. We played Euchre a ton this season and it was fun. We are generally a SCUM family, it's a classic for us, including extended family but Euchre definitely has it's benefits. I would say I kind of enjoy it more, but saying that feels like a betrayal lol. I don't like it's limitations on number of people though. In that way, Scum wins. We had a more lean Holiday than usual, but it was still awesome. I appreciate togetherness too much for it to be anything other than fabulous, as long as I have all my family around me.
This is probably the first new year I haven't even attempted a new years resolution. What is the point? Really. Certain things I have wanted to change for years and just never do... not to a satisfying extent anyway. I hate the making of all these goals. It's so cliched and everyone knows they usually only last a month or two if that. I would like to get healthy. Period. In just about every way. I'm just not gonna make it some goal right now. Everyone has the best of intentions but always lets the ball drop. Besides, it gets old, not being happy with your life AS YOU LIVE IT.
My boyfriend and I had a weekender in Chicago last week and it was a blast till we missed our train home! We went on a walking tour, which was our favorite activity for this visit. It was a lot of history and anecdotes and we both just really enjoyed it. We went to the Art Institute and I about died of joy. I love art. I wish I could study art in school. It would be lovely to just spend hours and hours studying my favorite artists.
On that note, I have been toying with the idea of moving to Paris, France and attending the Sorbonne. I still have a lot of research to do, but I know it would be the time of my life and just an amazing opportunity. I know a total of maybe two people in Europe and it would be quite the adventure. Schooling in Europe is a lot more affordable than here, a fact I never knew till a friend came back from the Netherlands and we started talking about how realistic it can be to go to university overseas. I can't wait to find out more about it.
